The form of vitamin E used in selected M. Carya formulas is T-95 mixed tocopherols, a concentrated, oil-soluble blend of alpha, beta, gamma, and delta tocopherols. Our supplier identifies it as non-GMO, vegetable-derived, and containing at least 95 percent total tocopherols. It has a thick, syrup-like texture and a naturally medium to dark brown color.

In oil-based formulations, tocopherols function primarily as antioxidants. They help slow the oxidation of plant oils, butters, and other ingredients that may deteriorate when exposed to oxygen, heat, or light.

We use T-95 at low percentages because it is highly concentrated and only a small amount is needed for its formulation role. Vitamin E is not a broad-spectrum preservative and does not protect water-containing products from bacteria, yeast, or mold. Its purpose in our formulas is specifically to help protect oils and fats that are vulnerable to oxidation.

Tocopherols can also contribute a light skin-conditioning quality to the finished product, but we value this ingredient primarily for its ability to support formula integrity. It works quietly alongside ingredients such as cold-pressed pecan oil and plant butters, helping preserve their character and performance. For M. Carya, vitamin E is a small but purposeful part of a carefully balanced formulation.
