From Orchard to Oil: Our Collaboration with Oliver Pecan

In January 2024, I began the search for a local, unique ingredient to inspire my formulations. I looked across Texas — a state rich in natural beauty and possibility. The desert offers its mineral-rich bentonite clay, our prairies are dotted each late summer with the bright red fruit of the prickly pear cactus, and decades ago, candelilla wax was once harvested in the far southwestern deserts.

But as I searched, I realized how rare it is to find ingredients that are actually harvested and manufactured here in the United States. And then I remembered San Saba — a small town about 90 minutes from my home, proudly known as the Pecan Capital of the World.

Pecans. They were the answer.

I soon found research highlighting the skincare benefits of pecan extracts and shells, and then I discovered Oliver Pecan’s cold-pressed pecan oil. From that moment, every bit of my formulation work focused on unlocking the possibilities of this beautiful oil.

When I met the Oliver family, Holt Oliver kindly gave me a tour of his grandfather’s property where they first harvested pecans. The collaboration began that day.

I am so proud to use a beautifully pressed oil from right here in Texas, and I’m excited to see where this partnership will take us next. Today, I’m thrilled to officially share our collaboration — and this short Reel to celebrate the moment.
